Theme for the Month: Progress
Insights
Boy, have I come a long way! That's not a boast. That's said with heaps of amazement and bewilderment. How did I get here anyway? I mean it seems like just the other day I was sitting here all alone in my little office typing these stories out not ever thinking that anyone else would ever want to read them. Now look at me, writing articles for publications across the web (and not being intimidated by doing that any more), giving courses on how to promote on the web, watching my site climb in the rankings as well as in visitor counts! It's so exciting, but still I can't help but wonder, when did all of this happen?
One thing is for sure it didn't happen by sitting there going, "You know, I wish " Although sometimes it honestly feels like that's all I do. It happened because I always look forward at what still needs to be done rather than behind at what's already been done. Then suddenly I do look back and go, "Wow!"
For example, the subscribers to this newsletter now number about 350. My first issues went out to 17 people! In fact, we added more people last month than I had the first six months of the newsletter. But the thing is, I look at that and say, "That's great. Now how can we get 350 more people?" I read an interesting statistic the other day that said 82 percent of Americans consider themselves Christian, so I'm thinking another 350 shouldn't be THAT hard to find.
So I wake up every morning ready to find a few more-a few more people looking for a little piece of God in their lives, a few more wanting to have some peace, wanting to have some joy, wanting for their lives to make a little more sense. Then again I say, "Surely there are another 350 people out there like that." And I go searching.
Funny, I read something else the other day that struck me. It was talking about how people wake up every morning and dread going to work. I sincerely hope you are not one of these people because that makes me truly sad. I wish for every single person alive what I have-a job they absolutely love and the chance to work at it until prosperity comes from it.
I wish that for you in the coming month. Find something you
love to do and then find a way to be happy doing it. I promise you'll soon
turn around and be astounded at how far you've come!

A Life Question
Where do your true talents and joys lie? Maybe it's in sewing or cooking or playing with your children. Maybe it's in volunteering or mentoring. Maybe it's in writing or reading or praying. Maybe it's in playing sports or building and making things. Whatever it is that makes you feel true joy, find a way to do it today. Tomorrow may be too late. You have today. Use it.

Quote From On High "I do not count myself to have apprehended;
but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching
forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for
the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." ***** |
